Malpractice Reform Debate Continues

Posted on Tuesday, December 8th, 2009 at 8:18 am

The malpractice reform debate continues in the Senate as legislators on both sides attempt to come to an agreement over whether caps should be placed on medical malpractice awards. If you or someone you love has been the victim of insufficient medical care, the New Jersey medical malpractice attorneys of Levinson-Axelrod may be able to help you get the dignity you deserve.

Republican senators favor placing limits on how much juries can award the victims of medical malpractice suits. They say that this will help reduce the runaway costs of health care in the United States by reducing the amount of insurance physicians have to pay. Democrats, however, say that malpractice claims cost a small fraction of the overall expense of health care.
