Seven people recently filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the drunk driver responsible for a fatal accident involving six motorcyclists. In addition to the driver, three bars are named as defendants in the lawsuit. The plaintiffs include the widows of two motorcyclists, ages 47 and 52, who were killed in the accident, four motorcyclists who were injured in the accident, and one of the motorcyclists’ wives who argues that her husband’s injuries have caused her pain and suffering.
In July, the motorcyclists–all members of the Last Chance Motorcycle Club in New Jersey–were traveling southbound on Route 512 in Bangor, Pennsylvania when a drunk driver traveling northbound crossed into the southbound lanes and crashed into them. According to the lawsuit, three bars had been serving the driver alcoholic beverages before the accident, despite the fact that he was clearly drunk.
