Dallas Braden, a left-hander in baseball, has filed a medical negligence suit against a surgeon and the Webster Orthopedic Medical Group after a surgery that was done to his left hand.
The 27-year-old claims in the suit that he has permanent nerve damage in his foot after a surgery that took place in August 2009. The ball player is claiming that the surgeon severed the peroneal nerve when trying to remove a cyst.
He also claims that because of the surgery he missed the rest of the 2009 season and now pitches with two numb toes. Braden states that this causes extreme pain during games and fatigue in the later innings. The doctor and the medical center have not yet responded to the suit.
