On April 28, a storm in St. Louis caused a tent attached to a pub to collapse. Overall, 100 people were treated for varying degrees of injuries, and one person lost his life.
The fatality was a 58-year-old man who grew up in Illinois. The man suffered severe head injuries as a result of the collapse and ultimately died of his injuries. The widow of the man has filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the tent company and the bar in which the tent was set up.
The suit claims that the pub was negligent in inspecting the quality of the tent and also that the company that installed the tent did not check all of the safety features before finishing the job. All of the people were under the tent celebrating a win by the St. Louis Cardinals baseball team that same day.
Our thoughts are with the man’s family and friends during this tragic time.
